Peter was born in 1952, a son of a veterinarian. He began studying law but changed to veterinary studies and graduated in 1977 becoming a Dr. med. vet. in 1978.
After veterinary studies he went onto study human dentistry and finished in 1982. Graduating as Dr. med. dent. also in 1982.
Peter worked until 1994 as a human dentist . During and after this time he also worked as a teacher to educate vets in veterinary dentistry. Peter produced many publications.
In Germany he was the pioneer of veterinary dentistry and his way of teaching kindled the flames for the love for the subject in the hearts of many vets.
He was a founder of EVDS and in the founding committee of the EVDC. He initiated the foundation of DGT, the German dental society.
He was also involved in other veterinary committees like FECAVA.
It is with much sadness that we learn of his untimely death but the board of the European Veterinary Society know we will remember Peter for a long time for his contributions in the field of Veterinary Dentistry.
