The British Veterinary Dental Association is proud to present the Talking Teeth (virtual) Tour 2026. Bringing you live veterinary dentistry CPD every month through 2026 to help make dentistry easier in general practice.
Join us this evening for a live discussion with Olga Tretter who will talk about Minimizing stress for dental examinations and treatments: a patient- and operator-friendly approach.
Minimizing stress for dental examinations and treatments: a patient- and operator-friendly approach
Is stress an inevitable part of running a small animal dental service? From solo practitioners to large hospitals, we all face the same pressures — over- and underbooking, high-risk patients, and time pressure. The dental field adds its own layer of unpredictability: findings often only emerge once the patient is under anesthesia, driving client anxiety over treatment possibilities and costs. This presentation covers how good setup, organisation, and scheduling can improve the workflow and the mood of the dental theatre — for the benefit of the patient, the client, and the team. Alongside case flow and scheduling strategies, we'll look at practical tools for transparent cost communication with clients, address other sources of stress such as the physical toll of dental work on the operator, and cover essential tools for managing complications when they arise.
The Talking Teeth (virtual) Tour evening meetings can be purchased individually, or are available free to all BVDA members (membership starts at just £40 a year and is free for vet students).
